Christmas in Boot Camp

Our friend Johnny is at boot camp on Christmas Day, can you believe that?

Where are you going to be on Christmas Day? Who are you going to be with?
Your mom, your dad?
Sleeping in your own soft bed?

Johnny will not be with his wife or with his mom and dad. He won't be sleeping in his own soft bed.

Where will he be, what will he be doing?
We have researched on the internet what Christmas day should be like and it will be like all the other Sundays.
He gets the day off from training but not a day off to sit around.
He is allowed time to go to church.
He needs to clean his bunk,
his equipment,
study his Marine instruction book.

On Sundays' he can read the letters that you have sent to him.
Johnny LOVES our letters.

Johnny is in week 4

Week 4:
Swim qualification

There are four levels of swim/water survival qualification in recruit training. The Marines are an amphibious service, and water survival training is designed to increase their competence and survivability in an amphibious environment.

Johnny is learning how to swim and survive in the water with all his gear on.

He also learns how to jump from a high diving board with all his equipment on.

Remember to pray for Johnny, everyday.
You can pray that he will remember that the Lord loves him
and is there with him every step he takes.
You can also pray that Johnny will pass his tests.
Pray that Johnny will feel healthy and strong.

Here is a picture of Johnny and his dad.

Here I am with Johnny during the interview.

Merry Christmas Johnny, we love you.
