I'm Baaack!

I am happy to report that it is me, your lovable blog writer, Daisy May, back at the typewriter.

I have had such a difficult time since my injury.

Yes, it's true, I did sneak off when Mary wasn't looking .. I couldn't help it, I had to go down and see what all my pals down the road were doing.

Boy, did I make a wrong choice
Sneaking got me into a BUNCH of trouble.

I thought it would be OK if I snuck away, I know Mary and Papa said I shouldn't cause I could get hurt but I had snuck off so many other times without getting hurt that I just didn't think they were right.

As I was walking through the woods I heard a sound in the bushes .. I thought it was a squirrel so I charged after it. I was running fast, the hair on the my back was standing up I was ready to get that squirrel. When I finally got to where the noise was coming from it was NOT a little squirrel but a bobcat

I must have scared the bobcat cause it jumped out at me .. I yelped, the bobcat swiped at me with his sharp claws and that is how I got all my wounds. I ran away from the bobcat, I ran as fast as I could to the house and as soon as I got there I hid in the bushes in the front garden.
It was after that Mary called me. I was afraid to come out of the bushes but since Mary was there I felt safer. I slinked slowly, cautiously towards the house. I was so afraid the bobcat was going to get me again.

I made it into the house. WHEW!

Papa saw my wounds, he cleaned them and wrapped them in the blue bandages.

Finally, the next day, we went to the vet.

When we got to the vet's he looked at my wounds and shook his head. He said they looked pretty bad.

Papa put me up on the table and this is what he remembers:

"I laid Daisy on her back and then Dr. Seepe, the vet,  stitched her wounds with a curved needle and what looked like thick black thread. He sewed the pieces of skin together so they would heal.
She was very brave, she didn't even cry when she was being stitched up, she laid very still.
The Dr said Daisy had elephant hide .. her skin was so thick under her armpit.
Dr. Seepe stood her up, gave her a rabies shot after that I took her back to Mary. Lastly, I paid the bill and we went home"

I was so glad to be home. I think I slept for several days straight. Everyone spoiled me. Mary made me chicken soup to help me heal and MMM it was good.

Now I am able to run around as usual, Papa says my wounds look much better.

I have a lot to be thankful for. A loving family that takes good care of me. A comfortable home and a good vet that did a good job stitching my wounds.

Also, I learned a lesson .. sneaking is a bad idea.

Even though it seems like what I am doing isn't really going to hurt me, Papa and Mary knew about things I didn't know about.

They knew about bobcats.

So, take my advice. Don't sneak.
