We don't know how she got them but they are deep cuts .. all the way past her fur, down deep.
Papa and I were outside, it was such a lovely evening. Daisy went outside with us, she went into the woods I watched her walking around and then I went to feed Emma. After feeding Emma I went into the house, forgetting about Daisy wandering outside - getting into trouble.
After awhile I went outside to find her. I was thinking "Where is Daisy? Did I forget her outside?" I went out the front door and I called her name. She slowly emerged from the bushes. I scolded her saying "Daisy! get out of the garden!" She moved very slowly then finally marching into the house I stopped her cause I knew she had dirt and mulch all over her. Sure enough dirt and mulch and as I went to brush her to clean her I saw a terrible cut. I brought her in, put her on her rug then called to Papa to come cause I needed him. Together we looked her over. I think she has about 4 deep wounds and several little ones. She wasn't bleeding very much so that was good.
Papa and I wondered what we should do next. It seemed like the right thing to do would be to take her to the vet BUT all the vets were CLOSED!
We wondered .. what do we do now? We prayed and asked God for His wisdom. He brought to my mind to call Miss Mary Beth, she knows all about animals.
We called her, explained what had happened to Daisy, we asked her if she had any suggestions and do you know what happened next??
That kind lady came all the way over to our house with an animal medical kit. She and Papa cleaned Daisy's wounds then wrapped them with blue bandages. Daisy was a very good patient.
Papa and Miss Mary Beth were so gentle and careful. Daisy laid still while they cared for her. It was if Daisy understood they were helping her get better.
Daisy has been just laying on her carpet now for several hours. I brought a blanket downstairs for her. She loves it, she snuggles into it.
I told her not to worry about her blog that I would enter this story into it so you could know how she is doing.
Keep praying that she will get better. We don't know how she got hurt. Maybe it was a wild animal, maybe there was rabies.
Let's pray that God who loves all creatures will put His healing hand on Daisy.
Love you ..
Miss Mary Beth with Daisy - Miss Mary Beth let me take her picture for the blog so you could
see who the kind lady in the story is.
This is her back leg bandage
Doesn't she look very sad?
Poor Daisy.
We will pray but not worry, instead we will think about when she gets better.
Like how she will probably go back in my garden again - oh my! And bug me for a walk when the bird clock chimes it's 2:00 pm bird.
Hopefully she won't run off any more but she probably will.
We will take good care of her.
Should I make her some chicken soup?
YES! I think I should!
What do you think?
