Liberty with Uncle Benj

They left me again. Early Friday morning they were bustling around the house, packing suitcases, doing last minute details like putting a huge bowl of my dog food on the front porch AND Papa put my bed mattress on the front porch! I knew that couldn't be good. After they rushed out the door and were opening the car door to get in so they could leave I kept trying to sneak in the car so I could go. Mary would have let me go I'm sure, but Aunt Elisa and Papa said 'No! Daisy cannot go!' Papa then told me that I have to stay home and guard the house. He told me that it's my work. Sullenly I agreed, got away from the car door and stood on the brick sidewalk as they positioned themselves in the car. Mary rolled down her window as they drove off and said 'Poor Daisy, she's good!'. I felt a little better with that so I stayed behind and guarded the house. There weren't to many problems while they were gone but the one strange animal that came right up on the porch and ATE my food!!. I think they call it a opossum. grr.
Here are some pictures of their trip. I understand they had a lovely time. They said it is always so good to see Benjamin. He is a delight in their lives.

Here they are at the ROT that's the place for food. The other young lady is Jennifer. She is Benjamin's friend Ben's sister. She drove from Alabama to see her brother.

That day they got to go to Uncle Benj's classes. They LOVED them. The first one was a talk from a church planter - he explained what it means to be a church planter. It's someone that starts a new church where there wasn't one. There are fun parts and hard parts of being a church planter or a worker for the Lord, and very often the Lord will use our difficulties to help us grow into stronger Christians. 

Then they went to a class that had interesting ideas about being determinant or free. Determinant means you can't help yourself and you shouldn't get in trouble for any of the bad things you do - but being free means you get to choose what you want to do. You get to use your brain and decide for yourself. If you do good it's cause you were smart and chose good, if you do bad it's cause you made the wrong choice.

Mary said she prefers to be free. She likes to decide for herself.

Then came lunch ... mmm.

Afterward they had one more class - Old Testament History. It was a huge class room. It was as big as a movie theater. Lots of students. The teacher was very interesting and loved teaching his subject.

Then came dinner. More eating. oh my goodness.

  That night they went to the SnowFlex - It looks pretty at night.

A giant bear - grrr

It is a real bear that has died and is now stuffed.

A moose or an elk. You see a lot of those in the mountains of Utah. Not to many in North Carolina or Georgia. This poor moose is stuffed and hung up on a wall.

  Another bear - looks kind of scary. Ethan do you remember Cole, your young friend in Yanceyville had one at his grandma's house? It was on the floor and it was real soft.

A big deer (I think) it would be a Utah deer not a North Carolina deer. It's big.

A real turkey, stuffed and mounted on the wall. You will find these in North Carolina and Georgia. They are all over the place.

Here is Auntie Leesi, you know her as Auntie Elisa but Auntie Phee has renamed her, now she is Auntie Leesi (Leesie)

Mary and Don fooling around. Mary told me Don drove her down the hall real fast. Her hair was blowing she was going so fast. She also looks a bit chubby there. Poor girl.

The next morning we went back to Snowflex, we used the free bus system that Uncle Benj uses all the time. There is a lot of walking on campus. It's great.

Auntie Leesi, Jenifer and Benj. The ground looks like snow but it's like the grass you would find on a football field. It is wet so you slide.

  In this picture is Auntie Leesi, with Uncle Benj, the young lady in the orange top is Sydney, Uncle Benj's room mate comes next, he is Ben and next to him is his sister Jennifer.

Do they have the tubes? What are they going to do??

There they go, Mary and Don are going down the hill. Mary said she screamed all the way down. But they both say they loved it.

 Next came the football game. It is a really pretty stadium. Lots of people. Lots of seats. Turns out there is a parent side and a student side. They all sat on the student side. The parent side had comfy chairs, student side had benches but they didn't care they were having a blast. Auntie Leesi and Jennifer were up on the huge screen, they were yelling .. "Yay! Liberty!" they were there because the camera man came over and filmed them. (no surprise)

 

 

 

 

 It was rainy that day. Not to cold just wet. They stayed quite a while and had a blast.

After the game they drove home.

I was finally off duty and I got to go back in the house. I had been outside for TWO days! But I guarded the house and when they got home they found the place in great shape.
