'God said, Let Us [Father, Son, and Holy Spirit] make mankind in Our image, after Our likeness, and let them have complete authority over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the [tame] beasts, and over all of the earth, and over everything that creeps upon the earth.'
and from that comes the history, or story of mankind. This is a story about you and where you came from. We are related to Adam and Eve. They were the first parents.
We know the story of how God created a beautiful world, he made all things. The sun and moon, the plants, the water. And He put Adam and Eve in the garden to take care of it. And they did take care of it. And it was good.
BUT - sadly, who knows what came next in our story? hmm (mom, see if they can tell you)
Satan wanted to destroy God's good creation so he went to Adam and Eve told them lies.
I'm sorry to tell you that they listened to the lies and did evil instead of listening to what God had told them and doing good. That is called sin.
Oh my. That was very bad.
Listening to evil gets us into trouble. Jesus taught us how to handle it when Satan tells us bad things. When Jesus would hear evil He would stop the evil and speak God's Word instead.
So for example, if you hear an evil thing like -
"I don't care, I don't want to help" ....... that is evil because God says
"Be kind to one another" "love is patient ... love is never rude"
The reason we know God said those words is because we know what the Bible says. We listen to good, the Bible.
Those are just two examples of the good we learn about it the Bible. What if you don't know how to read the Bible yet, what should you do? Do you have any ideas of how you could learn what the Bible says?
One last thought for my sweet young Bible lovers. You haven't read all of the Bible yet, there is still so many pages you haven't read. Your mom can show you how many pages there are.
So how do you learn what is in the Bible, how do you learn what is good?
